Number one on the charts, overpowering magazine covers and sold out
mix tapes, SEEDA has become the number one Indies hip-hop artist in
Japan. Influenced by American hip-hop legends like Jay-Z, Nas and
Biggie, SEEDA entered the Japanese hip-hop scene in 1999 with the
release of his debut album “DETONATOR”. Since then, SEEDA has
released seven albums and 12 mix tapes in Japan. All 12 of those
mix tapes selling out in Japan. “I didn't feel like I was a rapper
until I sold 5000 units of my “hana to ame” single, rap was my hobby
up until then.” SEEDA says regarding his career.

With super producer “BACH LOGIC”, who helped Japanese super sensation
EXILE sell over a million records and Japanese legend AI sell over a
million as well, SEEDA has been able to successfully break into
various genres of music and developed a more versatile style. “I try
to convey my life and reality from my experiences through my music.”
His latest album self-titled “SEEDA” was listed as one of the top 20
in Japan on the Oricon Charts.

With the start of his blog and the video responds regarding the
on-going beef with Japanese Hip-Hop group “Teriyaki Boyz”, SEEDA’s
Youtube page received over 120,000 views in the first week of its
posting.

Gaining the people’s interest from the Teriyaki-Boyz beef, magazines
flooded SEEDA making him the number one hip-hop act on magazine
covers. Myspace Japan even wanted a hold on SEEDA. Nonetheless,
premiering his latest video “Dear Japan” on their exclusive Myspace
My X Japan site. Because of his success, SEEDA has been able to stay on
top, remaining as one of the only successful Indies artists in Japan.
“I don't see an Indies “scene” or a “scene” at all. I'm just me. I
just hang with my crew and I only want to make great music, that's all”.

Send your beat submission to kervins@patchwerk.com before 12am (est) March 8th with the subject "SEEDA" to enter.

  2. @anonymous understood - however this contest is not quite that type of opportunity. We know many up & coming producers that would love to make $1000 dollars for a beat that would have probably gotten pushed further and further down into their catalogue until they felt it was too dated to sell and so they probably would have not sold it otherwise. Unless you're banking on placing every beat you make... I'm sure those producers will see the value in this opportunity...
