Extremely successful new Hip Hop artists, such as Drake and Nicki Minaj, have used this kind of music compilation to build their brand and establish a secure foundation in the Industry. Hip Hop artists such as 50 Cent and Fabolous also see the importance in using mixtapes as a different venue of musical expression. To the rest of the Music Industry, the significance of what was once considered a minor step in an artist's career, has become very evident in the recent years.
