Contest Alert: 3rd Edition of 'Werk The Booth'



March 27th-April 2nd 2014, The Werkstation is hosting it's third 'Werk The Booth ' contest, this time in conjunction with DrumSquad producer 'Drumma Boy' who is in search of the most creative, unique and talented Producers / Artists / Songwriters / Instrumentalists of All Genres. 

Drumma Boy (www.drumsquad.com) has worked with an array
 of acts that include 2 Chainz, Juicy J, Young Jeezy, T.I., Kanye West,
Lil' Wayne, Drake, T-Pain, Usher, Ciara, Wiz Khalifa, Wale,
Waka Flocka Flame, Rick Ross, Drake, Gucci Mane, Bow Wow,
Soulja Boy, Ludacris, Yung Joc, Fabolous, Roscoe Dash, Rick Ross,
 E-40, Monica, Goapele, Stephen Marley, Damien Marley, Rocko, Lil' Jon,
Travis Porter, and Chris Brown. He won "Best Indie Producer of the Year"
 consecutively at the 2009, 2010 and 2011 Southern Entertainment Awards.
 He received a nomination for "Producer of the Year" at the 2008
 Ozone Awards and at the 2010 BET Hip Hop Awards. His beats
assisted with two nominations during the 2009 Grammy Awards including
 his work on T.I.'s Paper trail (Best Rap Album) and "Put On" 
by Young Jeezy & Kanye West (Best Performance by a Rap Duo)
In 2011 his hit single "No Hands" for Waka Flocka, Roscoe Dash and
 Wale received a nomination for "Best Collaboration" at the
2011 BET Awards and picked up the accolade for "Best Club Banger"
at the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards. 

Finalists will receive the opportunity to collaborate with Drumma Boy in studio on a current project. The winner of the contest will receive additional exposure including an interview slot on 'Street Watch Radio', mentions on Patchwerk / Werkstation Social Media pages, and video clips/pictures of their experience for promotional use.
  

 The 'Werk The Booth' with Drumma Boy Contest Rules are as follows:

1.  Eligible contestants include:

a) Producers
b) Artists
c) Songwriters
d) Artist/Songwriter in one
e) Artist/Songwriter duo
f) Instrumentalists 


2. Contestants are required to bring their music on a
 CD or a flash drive (music brought on a phone will not be accepted).
 You may record acapella. 

  
3.     ** SATURDAY MARCH 29th, 2014 from 1pm-4pm
WILL BE RESERVED FOR PRODUCER CONTESTANTS ONLY **.
Producer submissions will not be accepted at any other date/time. Artist/Songwriter/Instrumentalist submissions will not be accepted
during this reserved date/time. 


4.    Producer Contestants will have 15 minutes to play
at least 3 beat snippets while narrating through each and
answering questions from Drumma Boy about their work and themselves.
(Beat sampling will constitute 5-7 min of your 15 minute session with Drumma Boy).
 Drumma Boy will give contestants feedback live on the spot.
All Producer Entries will automatically be entered into the contest.

The fee for producers is $100 for 15 minutes. Prepaid reservations are required.


 5.     Artist / Songwriter / Instrumentalist Contestants will have up to
30 minutes to record his or her piece in the Werkstation booth
and each track recorded will automatically be entered into the contest.
(Original pieces are preferred but not required) 

The fee for artists/songwriters/instrumentalists to record is
$20 for 15 minutes or $35 for 30 minutes.
There is an additional $5 fee if you'd like to take home a CD of your session.


 6. Drumma Boy will choose the top three entries from the week.
Producer entries will be judged on creativity, skill, and uniqueness only.
Artist entries will be judged on vocal ability only.
Songwriter entries will be judged on creativity & uniqueness only.
Instrumentalist entries will be judged on musicianship only.


 7. All three (3) finalists will be invited to
Patchwerk Recording Studios where they will have 2 hours to
collaborate with Drumma Boy on a song. 


 8.   Out of three (3) finalists, One (1) winner will be selected.
The winner of the contest  will receive an interview slot on
'Street Watch Radio', mentions on Patchwerk / Werkstation
Social Media pages, and video clips/pictures of their experience
 for promotional use. In addition, Drumma Boy MAY continue to
work with the winner post contest and/or sign the winner to a publishing
 or developmental deal. No deals are guaranteed.


 9. Reservations for The Werkstation contest may now be made in advance.
